Niv Moran

BIOGRAPHY
Niv is a visiting scholar in the SALT Research Group. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and his MBA and M.S. in Energy Engineering from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev – Israel. Niv had also acquired certifications as professional in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Niv has been working for the last 30 years in the Israel Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) in various positions, mainly as a senior mechanical design engineer and head of R&D groups.

PROJECTS
Niv had participated and led many engineering projects of the IAEC. For the last 10 years, Niv has led the mechanical design group of the LORELEI project – the design of an experimental device which will be located in the Jules Horowitz Reactor (JHR), southern France. The project is an international collaboration between Rotem industries (Israel), the IAEC and the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
